Replacing Golf Club Grips

If the grips have, well, reminder marks, be sure they're pointing toward the club head. The D-Vise is padded and will protect your club shaft from being marred. Use club grip solvent in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Dremel D-Vise
  • Replacement Grips
  • Roll of Golf Grip Tape
  • Grip Solvent

Step-By-Step Directions

Step 1

Secure the club shaft in the D-Vise. Cut off old grips with the 426 cut-off wheel. Be careful that you donÕt cut into the actual shaft.

Step 2

Clean off the remains of the old tape using grip solvent. Then wrap the double-backed tape in an upward spiral, starting about 1/2" from where the low end of the grip will be.

Step 3

After removing the tape backing from the shaft, hold the new grip with a finger covering the hole at the opposite end. Pour in the grip solvent and rock it back and forth to spread the solvent throughout the inside.

Step 4

Pour remaining solvent on the new tape on your club shaft, making sure all the tape is wet. Quickly slide the new grip over the taped shaft as far as it will go.
