A: No. The PL400 Planer was designed exclusively to utilize the increased performance of the Dremel 4000, 400 and 8200 rotary tools.
A: It will last 500 linear feet and never needs to be replaced!
A: The PL400 planer bit was designed to last the life of the planer, but if you need a replacement blade, you can purchase one through Dremel Customer Service at 1-800-437-3635.
A: It planes up to 2-1/4" width and each pass removes approximately 1/64” of material.
A: Yes, it has both a 90-degree & 45-degree edge guide.
A: First you remove the nose cap. Then you insert the cutter into the collet nut as far as it will allow. Next, thread the attachment on the tool and tighten the quick-attach coupling. Make sure to align the two tabs on the planer with the notches on the nose of the tool. See page 15 for illustrated attachment instructions.
A: You only need to use enough pressure on the planer to keep it in contact with your work piece.
A: Yes. It is easiest to control the PL400 Planer by holding the rotary tool in one hand and guiding the planer by the black finger-grip with the other hand. See page 15 for illustrated holding instructions.
