Usage

Q: Will the XPR MultiSaw fit on my old Dremel rotary tool?

A: No. The XPR MultiSaw was designed exclusively to utilize the increased performance of the new XPR rotary tool.

Q: What material can I cut with the XPR MultiSaw?

A: The saw comes standard with an XPR MultiSaw Wood blade that can make straight and curved cuts in soft materials such as plastic, soft wood, and hard wood up to 1/2" thick.  Refer to blade manufacturer’s recommendations for additional material usage.

Q: Can I plunge cut with the XPR MultiSaw?

A: Yes.  You can plunge cut in soft materials (drywall, soft wood).

Q: How does the XPR MultiSaw attach to the rotary tool?

A: First, remove the XPR nose cap, collet and collet nut. Next, thread the XPR MultiSaw drive on the XPR tool. Finally, align the 2 tabs on the MultiSaw with the notches on the XPR tool and tighten the quick-attach coupling. See page 15 for illustrated attachment instructions.

Q: Is the MultiSaw a replacement for a recip saw?

A: No. while the MultiSaw has reciprocating cutting action, it is not intended for heavy-duty demolition work like a recip saw. What it is intended for is cutting in confined spaces that a jigsaw or recip saw cannot reach.

Q: What is the recommended run speed of the XPR MultiSaw attachment?

A: The MultiSaw performs best at high speeds. You can user lower speeds on softer materials, such as plastics.

Q: How should I hold the XPR MultiSaw?

A: It is easiest to hold the XPR MultiSaw in one hand and XPR tool in the other hand. See page 15 for illustrated holding instructions.

Blades

Q: What kind of blades do I use with the XPR MultiSaw?

A: The tool comes with a general-purpose Wood blade, and there is a XPR replacement blade set (#550) that contains a Wood straight-and-curve-cut blade, and Wood clean-cut blade, and a Metal straight-and curve-cut blade. The XPR MultiSaw was designed to use any standard U- or T-shank jigsaw blade.

Q: How do I change the XPR MultiSaw blade?

A: The blades are easily changed using a 2.5mm Allen wrench. One is provided with the saw.

Lubrication

Q: Does the XPR MultiSaw need occasional lubricating?

A: No. It is properly lubricated at the factory to last the life of the tool.
