A: No.  The XPR Planer was designed exclusively to utilize the increased performance of the new XPR rotary tool.

Q: How long will the XPR Planer bit last? 

A: It will last 500 linear feet and never needs to be replaced!

Q: How can I get a replacement bit for the XPR Planer, should I ever need one?

A: The XPR planer bit was designed to last the life of the planer, but if you need a replacement blade, you can purchase one through Dremel Customer Service at 1-800-437-3635.

Q: What size and depth does the XPR Planer cut?

A: It planes up to 2-1/4" width and each pass removes approximately 1/64” of material.

Q: Does the XPR Planer have an edge guide?

A: Yes, it has both a 90-degree & 45-degree edge guide.

Q: What is the recommended run speed for the XPR Planer?

A: The Planer performs best at high speeds.

Q: How does the XPR Planer attach to the 400 Series XPR rotary tool?

A: First you remove the nose cap. Then you insert the cutter into the collet nut as far as it will allow. Next, thread the attachment on the tool and tighten the quick-attach coupling. Make sure to align the two tabs on the planer with the notches on the nose of the XPR tool. See page 15 for illustrated attachment instructions.

Q: Do you apply pressure on the XPR Planer when using it?

A: You only need to use enough pressure on the planer to keep it in contact with your work piece.

Q: Should you grip the XPR Planer and 400 Series XPR rotary tool at the same time?

A: Yes. It is easiest to control the XPR Planer by holding the XPR tool in one hand and guiding the planer by the black finger-grip with the other hand. See page 15 for illustrated holding instructions.
