Museum class model of the NC-4 airplane

David Brazelton, FL, USA

This model was built and donated to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its flight across the Atlantic. It is solid mahogany (supplied by the museum) and I used a Drmel model 2 Mototool (like today's model 275 Dremel) for all the details and close fits. It is 1/2" = 1' scale giving a wingspan of 62 inches. The model was subsequently traded to the Smithsonian Museam, Air and Space Museum for the restored NC-4 airplane.
