Refinish a Chair Back

Sand scratches from carved and detailed areas easily while maintaining the original shape of those beautiful details.

  • Paint Brush or Clean Cloth
  • Matching Wood Stain
  • Clear lacquer or varnish

Step-By-Step Directions

Step 1

Your chair has been badly scuffed and needs to be refinished.

Step 2

Sand surface smooth using the 511 abrasive buffs. Start with the light brown buff to remove any scratches, follow with the black buff to smooth and blend the area. Recommended speed: 20,000 rpm.

Step 3

Test the stain color on the underside of the chair if a color match is needed. With a soft brush or cloth, stain the sanded area with the matching color.

Step 4

Spray with clear lacquer or varnish to protect the surface and restore luster.
