Extraordinary Maker: Claudio Rinaldi
Hailing from Ancona, a small city in the Italian region of Le Marche, is lifelong woodworker Claudio Rinaldi. Claudio attributes his eye for detail and appreciation of craftsmanship to the Byzantine city he grew up in, and the history steeped within it. These days, he turns his creative attention to wood, and shares his knowledge with the next generation of creators. In this video, we learn what it is about wood that continues to inspire Claudio to create. We hope that his story inspires you to think about your own passions. You never know where they may lead you…
Meet Claudio Rinaldi. Resident of Ancona, founder of the town’s creative Fab Lab ‘Rinoteca’ and lifelong woodworker. “Since I was a child, I’ve always had a passion for wood. I find it emotional when the material turns into an object.” To Claudio, the act of creating is intrinsically linked with shaping one’s own future. It’s this belief that led him to establish Fab Lab ‘Rinoteca’, a workshop that blends ancient craftsmanship with innovation. “I combine traditional techniques – such as engraving and sanding – with digital solutions.” Claudio believes this enables a new generation of crafters to redefine the “Handmade in Italy” label.
