Get ready for the changing seasons by adding some fun fall flair to any room with this decorative owl, made by bloggers Leo and Jane Windham with Cottage at the Crossroads.

You need
  • Wood Glue
  • Pencil
  • Variable Speed Jigsaw
  • Safety Glasses
  • A 28" x 28" piece of 1/4" thick plywood
  • Craft Paints in colors of your choice. We used brown, black, grey, white, and gold

Detailed owl drawling on wood

Start by finding a detailed drawing of an owl to use as a reference. Sketch the outline of the owl on a 28" x 28" size piece of 1/4" plywood.

Use a variable skill jigsaw to cut out the owl. Then, sketch the details used from your detailed drawing onto the cutout shape with a pencil.

Dremel 3000 rotary tool in use

Carve out the details with your Dremel 108 engraving cutter and the Dremel 3000 Rotary Tool, while keeping the speed set to 5.

Wood stained owl

Apply wood stain to both the front and the back of the owl. Allow the stain to dry.

Use craft paints to decorate your owl to your personal taste. Hang or display the owl to lend some fall flair to your home!
