Portable Misting Station
- DifficultyEasy
Make watering easier than ever this spring and summer with a portable misting station. For family fun in the sun, make the station tall enough to run underneath! Plus, this station can be quickly disassembled for easy winter storage.
Step 1
We made our misting station about two feet high and 4-1/2 feet wide. We chose this height to clear our tire planters, however we encourage you to measure the average area you'd like to mist at one time and adjust the size of your misting station accordingly. You can even make this taller for a fun overhead sprinkler you can run through! Begin by measuring and marking all of your station pieces. You'll need to cut the following: Click here to see a more detailed blueprint. - 8 side pieces at 15" each - 4 standing pieces at 24" each - One cross bar at 4-1/2'
Step 2
Next, cut along your marked lines using the Dremel Saw-Max SM20 tool and a SM500 Wood and Plastic Wheel. We always recommend securing your workpiece onto your work bench using a clamp or vice. Of course, securing cylindrical materials like PVC pipe can be a challenge. We created a cutting station by clamping two pieces of scrap wood to the table, wedging the PVC in-between. This helps secure the PVC into place while also allowing you to feed the pipe through as you complete your series of cuts. You can also secure the PVC in a vice as well. With your pipe secure, plunge your Saw-Max tool equipped with the SM500 wheel into your lines of cut, rolling the PVC slowly towards you to complete your cut. You'll notice that the abrasive edge of the cutting wheel leaves a nice, smooth finish behind in your pipe.
Step 3
Now it is time to assemble all of your cut pieces. Start by assembling your side frames.
Step 4
Join your two side frames together by securing the 4-1/2' cross bar between the two (T) connectors. Attach your hose to the Male connector. Make sure the cap is covering the bottom (T) connector on the opposite side frame. Set your station at your preferred spot in your garden, turn on the hose and relax while the watering is done for you!
