Los geht's - Schritt für Schritt

Schritt 1 9

Step 1

Begin by finding a drawer, in new or used condition, that is ready to be repurposed. It may be old furniture that you have around the house, or take the opportunity to shop flea markets for the perfect fit! If any of the drawer boards are damaged, use a measuring tape to determine the dimensions to make a replacement piece.

Schritt 2 9

Step 2

If you are replacing a damaged board, use the US40 Ultra-Saw equipped with the US500 4" Carbide Wood Cutting Wheel, to cut a scrap piece of board to the proper dimensions. Secure the board into place using a nail gun, or a hammer and nails (1 1/2" finishing nails).

Schritt 3 9

Step 3

Next, using the 8050 Micro with the 407 1/2" Sanding Drum, remove the finish (paint, stain) from the detailed sections of the drawer front. The finish should be removed until it no longer has a shine.

Schritt 4 9

Step 4

To remove the finish from large, flat sections, use the MM20 Multi-Max and sanding pad.

Schritt 5 9

Step 5

Select the paint color of your choice, and paint all wood surfaces of the drawer.

Schritt 6 9

Step 6

To personalize your shelf, use contact paper to line the bottom of the drawer. Begin by using a tape measure to mark the drawer dimensions, and then cut the contact paper to the correct size with a scissors. Fit and adhere the contact paper to the bottom of the drawer.

Schritt 7 9

Step 7

If you would like to add an interior shelf, use a tape measure to mark a scrap piece of wood to the correct dimensions. Using the US40 Ultra-Saw and the US500 4" Carbide Wood Cutting Wheel, cut the wood to the right dimensions. Then, paint the shelf to the match the drawer.

Schritt 8 9

Step 8

Using the 8050 Micro and a 1/8" Drill Bit, drill pilot holes into the sides of the drawer where you would like to attach the interior shelf. Place the interior shelf in the drawer at the location of the pilot holes, and secure it in place using a hammer and 1 1/2" finishing nails

Step 9

Lastly, install hardware on the back-side of the drawer for hanging. We used two hangers, one on each side, for added security. With the hangers in place, display the shelf on the wall and add decorations for a personal touch!
