STEP 1

Step 1

First thing's first, you want this to be a pleasant experience for your pet so it is best to wait until your dog is relaxed and calm before you begin. A walk before the session may help. TIP: Keep your pet calm. Talk in a calm and quiet voice to help keep them calm. Let your pet investigate and sniff the tool to be more comfortable. Turn on the Pet Groomer to a slow speed to better adapt him to the tool.

STEP 2

Step 2

Next, Spread pet's feet to inspect for dirt and debris.

STEP 3

Step 3

Hold your pet in place by putting your arms and upper body over him while you file the nails with the Dremel Pet Grooming Kit. While filing the front nails, hold your forearm over the pet's neck to prevent him from lifting his head. If you pet remains anxious or jumpy, try laying him on his side and gently holding him down.

STEP 4

Step 4

Only trim the tip of each nail at a slight angle, just before the point where it begins to curl. Take care to avoid the quick, which is the vein that runs into the nail. If you accidentally cut into the quick, causing bleeding, apply some styptic powder to stop bleeding.

STEP 5

Step 5

After the nails have been cut, use an emery board or file to smooth out any rough edges.
