Dremel offers a variety of high-quality cutting accessories that are ideal for a variety of materials. There are two main types of accessories that can be used to cut with a rotary tool: either a Cutting Wheel/Disc or a Cutting Bit.

Straight Cutting – Cutting Wheels

These are thin circles of material made of fiberglass or a compact abrasive which cut through materials by spinning at high speeds.

Fiberglass Reinforced cutting wheels such as 426 are built to provide a longer lasting accessory option.

Dremel also offers more premium cutting wheels that are coated in more durable grits like diamond, carbide, or cubic boron nitride which delivers maximum performance to cut through harder materials.

Depending on the wheel, it can be used on wood, metal, plastic, soft stones / shells and drywall.

Freehand Cutting – Cutting Bits

Cutting bits like the Drywall, Tile, or the Multi-Purpose cutting bits are straight bits that are used for free form cutting which allow you to enter the material at an angle and then tilt your tool back vertically to cut the material you desire.

The milling style bits feature threads or flanges that push the discarded material out and away from the cutting surface.
