Grinding and sharpening bits are made of either aluminium oxide or silicon carbide and come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Aluminum Oxide Grinding Stones

Ideal for use on metal, glass, masonry, stone and tiles.

Dremel’s aluminium oxide (orange) grinding stones are highly durable and are excellent for virtually all your metal sharpening & grinding needs.

The aluminium oxide accessories are a great go-to for your everyday jobs, like sharpening screwdrivers to removing flash from metal castings.

Silicon Carbide Grinding Stones

Ideal for use-on hard & soft materials.

For hard materials like glass, masonry, stone, tile and other non-ferrous materials, Dremel’s Silicon Carbide (green) grinding stones are the way to go.

The silicon carbide feature a sharper and hard grain compared to aluminum oxide.

They’re good for working on rough surfaces or for engraving glass and removing stilt marks on ceramics.
