DIY: Create your own wooden coffee table

- DifficultyEasy
Nowadays, we see the most unique coffee tables. But how fun would it be to make your own coffee table? In this blog, you'll read how to do it easily. Are you ready? Let's get started!
Measuring
Begin by measuring and marking the desired dimensions on the wood. You will need three pieces: one for the tabletop and two for the legs. One leg will have a U-shape, and the other leg will have an L-shape. Be precise with your measurements to ensure a perfect fit.
Cutting
Once marked all the pieces, we can start cutting them with a DSM20. Be sure to follow your markings closely to get accurate cuts. If you’re working on wood, be mindful of the dust you will get with cutting. Wear safety glasses and a mask!
Creating Rounded Shapes
The table's legs will feature rounded shapes. To create these, use a circular object like a bowl or a paint can to draw the curves. This approach also works for rounding the corners of the tabletop.
Cutting the Rounded Shapes
Next, we used the Dremel Moto-Saw to cut out the round shapes in the table's corners and legs. Take your time to achieve smooth curves.
Sanding
After cutting, smooth the edges by sanding them with a Dremel 8240 Multi-Tool and your favorite sanding accessory. You can use a sanding band or disc. This step is crucial for achieving a professional finish and ensuring safety when using the table.
Pre-drilling holes
It's time to pre-drill holes where the screws will go. This makes it easier to assemble the table and reduces the risk of splitting the wood. After pre-drilling, you'll be ready to put the table together and secure it with screws. If you have an electric drill, you can also use it to make it easier!
The Final Step: Painting
The final step is to paint the table in your chosen color. Start by applying a primer, then paint it with the desired color. This will protect the wood and give your table a polished look. Consider where you want to place the table, you would need a different finish if it’s indoors or outdoors.
