Pumpkin Carving
- DifficultyEasy
Introduction
Easily add Halloween spirit to your home with a festively carved pumpkin. Even the most detailed designs can be accomplished when carving a pumpkin with a Dremel Cordless Multi-Tool.
Step 1
First, if you decide to use a pattern rather than freehand your design, trace along its edge with a washable marker or perforate along the design with a skewer. We chose the perforation technique and found that the easiest way to ad here the pattern to the pumpkin was to secure it with a push pin. Then follow along the pattern, pushing holes into the pumpkin with the skewer.
Step 2
Now we are ready to begin carving! Using your Dremel Cordless Multi-Tool on high speed and a Dremel Carving and Engraving accessory, (we used Dremel accessory #191) begin engraving the design into the pumpkin by following the pattern laid out by the perforations.
Step 3
Once you outline your design, etch away any larger spaces you wish to add a glow to with a Dremel High Speed Cutter. We used #194.
Step 4
Finally, simply smooth out any bumps in your design with a Dremel sanding band accessory. We used the EZ Drum Mandrel. Your pumpkin is now ready to shine anywhere festive decorations are wanted!
