- DifficultyMedium
Introduction
Get ready for the changing seasons by adding some fun fall flair to any room with this decorative owl, made by bloggers Leo and Jane Windham with Cottage at the Crossroads.
Step 1
Start by finding a detailed drawing of an owl to use as a reference. Sketch the outline of the owl on a 28" x 28" size piece of 1/4" plywood.
Step 2
Use a variable skill jigsaw to cut out the owl. Then, sketch the details used from your detailed drawing onto the cutout shape with a pencil.
Step 3
Carve out the details with your Dremel 108 engraving cutter and the Dremel 3000 Rotary Tool, while keeping the speed set to 5.
Step 4
Apply wood stain to both the front and the back of the owl. Allow the stain to dry.
Step 5
Use craft paints to decorate your owl to your personal taste. Hang or display the owl to lend some fall flair to your home!
