Make a Street Address Sign
- DifficultyMedium
Use this technique to make wood signs for your home or business to indicate address, direction, or entry. You can also carve away the outside of the letters or numbers for a raised-letter effect.
Step 1
Stain board with your favorite color of wood stain, let dry. Apply layer of varnish over entire sign, let dry. Using a pencil and a template, transfer your street address to the board.
Step 2
Use the Dremel Stylus and a 191 high speed cutter to carve out the numbers to a uniform depth.
Step 3
Sand and clean carved areas with 511 abrasive buff.
Step 4
Paint address numbers a contrasting color to the wood and let dry. Mount as required.
