Make Your Own Tabletop Greenhouse
Nurture your plants year-round with this practical Tabletop Greenhouse. Follow these step-by-step instructions to construct your own using basic woodworking techniques and Dremel tools.
Measure and cut lumber for the bottom box
Start by cutting the wooden components for the bottom box of the greenhouse to their specified lengths. Mount the Wood Cutting Wheel accessory onto your Dremel Ultra-Saw™ tool and cut the plywood and cedar planks accordingly.
Assemble the bottom box
Assemble the bottom box by joining the cut lumber together. Use wood glue and screws to secure the planks and plywood base. Pre-drill holes for the screws to ensure secure attachment.
Cut lumber for the lid
Cut the cedar planks to the specified dimensions to create the components of the lid. Use your Ultra-Saw™ tool to cut the wood accurately.
Assemble the lid base
Secure the lid base by affixing the side, center, and end planks together. Apply wood glue and use screws to join the components. Pre-drill holes to prevent splitting and ensure proper alignment.
Create gable braces
Cut the cedar planks to create gable braces for the lid. Glue the planks together to form ^ shaped braces and secure them with screws. Repeat for all three pairs.
Attach gable braces to lid
Glue the gable braces to the lid base and secure them with screws. Join the peaks of the braces with cedar planks to form the upper support of the lid.
Add acrylic panels
Cut acrylic panels to size and affix them to the lid using screws. Pre-drill holes to prevent cracking and work slowly to avoid damage.
Secure additional acrylic panels
Measure, cut, and attach acrylic panels to the ends of the lid using screws. Pre-drill holes for secure attachment.
Install metal trim
Cut aluminum angle to size and drill holes for screws. Attach the angle to the lid using screws to provide stability and reinforcement.
Attach hinges and optional accessories
Attach hinges to connect the bottom box and lid. Consider adding latches and chains for additional security and convenience in opening and closing the lid.
Follow these steps carefully to build your Tabletop Greenhouse. Remember to prioritize safety by wearing eye and respiratory protection throughout the construction process. Enjoy nurturing your plants in your newly constructed greenhouse!
To reduce the risk of injury user must read instruction manuals for all tools used in this project. Wear eye and respiratory protection. Use clamps to support work piece whenever practical.
