Passport Cover
Make a leather cover to protect your passport while traveling. Personalize the cover with the Dremel VersaTip to add some style!
Step 1
First, measure and cut the leather to 10 1/2” x 5 1/2” with scissors.
Step 2
Then, create the pouches for your passport’s cover to fit into. Fold both of the 5 ½” sides in 1”. Near the corner, about 1/8” from the edge, punch a hole in the leather to create a place for a snap. Create another hole at the other folded corner, where the leather is still two layers. Repeat on all four corners to create 16 holes. Hint: You have the choice to punch through both sides of the leather, or press hard enough to leave a mark on both sides, but punch through the leather one layer at a time.
Step 3
Now fit the snaps into the 8 sets of holes created in step 2. Keep the leather overlapped so the holes are matched up. Using the snap and setter kit, place the setter under the bottom snap, add the snap through the top hole, and then press the anvil against the snap. Use the chasing hammer to attach the snaps.
Step 4
Finally, burn your design into the leather using the Dremel VersaTip and accessories. Place your passport into the cover and you are ready to travel the world!
