Step 1

Start by placing an old jewelry box on the bamboo mat, and draw a line 1/4” to 1/2” wider than all ends of the box, leaving a slight overhang of bamboo.
Step 2

Next, prepare to cut through the bamboo by placing it on a table with a board on top of the bamboo and clamps to hold it down. Using the Dremel 3000 and cutting wheel, follow the drawn lines on the bamboo to trim it down to the necessary size.
Step 3

Then, take your leather strip and weave it across the center of the bamboo.
Step 4

Lastly, put glue on one of the longer sides and the bottom of the box. Then, place the box on the bamboo, leaving enough overhang to cover the side of the box. Pull up the glued bamboo side and press it to the box. Before you travel, place your jewelry in the box, close it by tying the leather strip together and pack it safely away in your luggage!
