Introduction
Create your own garden oasis anywhere with a planter box. Bring greenery into your space with Dremel.
Measure and Cut the Dowels
Begin by cutting 1" by 1" dowels to size to create the frame of your planter box. Use the Dremel Multi-Max MM35-01 Tool Kit equipped with the MM480 Wood Flush Cutting Oscillating Blade for precise, clean cuts. Follow your blueprint for exact measurements. The versatility of the Dremel Multi-Max makes it easy to handle these cuts with accuracy and speed.
Notch the Corners
After cutting the base of your planter box to size, it's time to notch the corners to form right angles. Using the Dremel Multi-Max MM35-01 Tool and the MM480 Flush Cutting Blade, carefully notch 1" by 1" in each corner. This will allow the frame to fit together perfectly, ensuring a sturdy and professional-looking planter box.
Cut and Attach the Cedar Planks
Next, cut your cedar planks to the appropriate size using your Dremel Multi-Max tool. Start attaching the planks to the frame, working from the bottom up. Secure each plank with screws to ensure a solid build. The Dremel MM480 Wood Flush Cutting Blade is perfect for making smooth cuts, giving your planter box a polished finish.
Reinforce the Base
For added support, cut additional 1" by 1" planks at a 45-degree angle and place them underneath the base of the planter box. This reinforcement will ensure that your planter box is sturdy and can hold the weight of soil and plants without warping or breaking. Again, use the Dremel Multi-Max MM35-01 Tool Kit for precise cuts.
Sand and Smooth the Edges
Once your planter box is assembled, sand down any rough edges to give it a smooth, finished look. The Dremel Multi-Max tool can also be equipped with a sanding attachment to make this task easier. A smooth surface not only enhances the appearance but also prevents splinters and makes the box safer to handle.
Finish and Protect Your Planter Box
To complete your planter box, consider applying a wood sealant or paint to protect the wood from the elements. This will extend the life of your planter box and keep it looking great season after season. Use your Dremel Multi-Max tool to ensure that all surfaces are even and ready for finishing.
By following these steps and utilizing the Dremel Multi-Max MM35-01 Tool Kit along with the MM480 Wood Flush Cutting Oscillating Blade, you can create a durable and stylish planter box perfect for any garden oasis.
