Did You Know You Could Use Your Dremel Accessories This Way?
- DifficultyMedium
Let's go - step by step
Metal grinding bits – EVA Foam
The Dremel Aluminum Oxide Grinding Stone bits work great for carving and shaping into foam. Avoid that sharp knife blade and try running the stone along rough edges to achieve a smoother, cleaner finish. To add texture and definition to your foam work, try using the grinding stone at an angle to carve into the foam. These bits make easy work of texturing foam props or costumes!
Wood carving bit – leather
When you think of engraving, you may gravitate towards the Dremel Diamond Wheel Point accessory range. These bits are great for engraving hard materials like glass, metal and ceramic, as well as soft materials like leather. However, we also love to use the Dremel MAX Tungsten Carbide Carving bit 9903DM. This durable carving bit is extremely effective for engraving leather as it glides through the material like butter. The rounded tip creates a smooth and uniform carve, perfect for that professional finish.
Sanding band – Removing Rust
Have you ever wanted to enjoy the (brief) good weather but realise your garden furniture is covered in rust? Luckily, we have a solution. Grab you’re trusty Dremel fitted with a Sanding Band 13 mm 60 grit and mandrel. This bit works fantastically at sanding away the rust and giving your belongings a new life. Make sure to have patience whilst doing this as heavier rust may require more sanding. The sanding bands are also a great way to sharpen garden tools to give your a good edge.
To reduce the risk of injury user must read instruction manuals for all tools used in this project. Wear eye and respiratory protection. Use clamps to support work piece whenever practical.
